Developed by ‘The Hair Doctor’, Philip Kingsley, whose work centred around scalp (as well as hair) heath, this formula was originally created for Sir Laurence Olivier. Unlike other dandruff treatments, Flaky Itchy Scalp Shampoo does not dry out the hair or strip it of colour, gently cleansing with specialised ingredients instead and removing build up and irritation, so effectively that 99% of those tested in a consumer trial said that it cleared their flaky scalp. With a delicate apple fragrance, this can be used every day as your main shampoo, or in conjunction with the shampoo recommended for your hair texture. Apply to wet hair
Lather well with a gentle kneading of the scalp
Rinse and repeat if necessary
Follow with the appropriate Philip Kingsley conditioner and scalp toner

Calming
It’s one of my favorite shampoos of all time, I’ve been periodically using it for years already. I have very sensitive scalp skin and there is very limited number of shampoos, which don’t make skin flaky and it’s one of them. I really like the smell and it has nice gel consistency. Although it does have good alternatives in lower price range.

Relief for itchy scalp
I have used this shampoo for a number of years now. I have psoriasis on my scalp and hairline and its the only one that gives relief from the awful itchy and burning sensation. Have tried other shampoos but always come back to this to relieve my irritated scalp. Will not clear psoriasis but helps so much with the discomfort. Fresh apple scent, does not strip my hair. Wont be without it.

I usually suffer from a flaky, extremely itchy scalp but found this shampoo didn't really do much either good or bad! Not what I expected from a sulphate free anti dandruff shampoo and especially not at this price mark. Still glad I gave it a shot, but the search continues. Didn't make it worse, but didn't make it better either

I had tried once the travel size of this shampoo and maybe I couldn’t really form an opinion. But I decided to get the full size and now after many washes I can say it does help a lot with itching and flakiness. Maybe it wont permanently eliminate dandruff but it does help a lot to make the scalp feel better.

This shampoo confuses me somehow
I have psoriasis and my scalp is affected by it. My hairline near my temple and on the back of my head are the most itchy and flaky parts, and I am still trying to find the right shampoo for my scalp which also does my hair justice. Even after buying this shampoo twice, I am not sure whether it works well for me, which is quite strange. After my first time purchase, my hairdresser mentioned that my scalp was less flaky. This was quite a compliment. But even after I finished up the shampoo and used other things, that didn't change a lot. After some period it did manage to get worse, and I bought this shampoo again thinking that maybe it DID really help. And again, some period was less flaky, and now it's a little bit more flaky again. So it seems maybe this shampoo is doing something, but the results aren't that visible/amazing? I can't use the shampoo on its own, as it doesn't clean my hair out well and leaves me with oily sticky thick strands after washing my hair. I use it as some kind of scalp treatment after washing my hair, and leave it for 5 minutes before washing it all out. Still unsure whether I would go back on it, as it doesn't seem to be doing much. The search continues.
